Last updated: 2026-10-20. These terms are between you and Origami Studio ([ABN]) ("we", "us"), which provides the DriveMate Fuel app and the website drivematefuel.com (together, "DriveMate Fuel"). By using DriveMate Fuel you agree to them. Our privacy policy says what we do with your information.
The service
DriveMate Fuel shows fuel prices, fuel stations and EV chargers in Australia, with where each price came from and how old it is. It's free. DriveMate Fuel Pro, an optional subscription, adds conveniences: no ads, any number of favourites and alerts, and analysis such as "buy now or wait" and prices along a route.
No price is ever behind Pro, today's or past ones. Every price, and its history, is free for everyone.
Prices are a guide: check the pump
The prices come from state government fuel price schemes, from the stations' own reports to those schemes, and from other drivers. They can be wrong or out of date, and some are delayed by the scheme's own rules:
- Victoria: the government passes prices to apps like ours 24 hours late, so a Victorian price is labelled with the day it comes from ("Yesterday's feed"). Where we show a daily maximum ("Today's maximum"), the price at the pump may be lower but should not be higher.
- Western Australia: stations set each day's price the afternoon before and must keep it for 24 hours from 6 am, so we can show tomorrow's prices ("Set for tomorrow").
- Prices from drivers are labelled "A driver" and are never shown as if they came from the station.
Every price shows its source and age. Always check the price on the station's board or the pump before you fill up. We are not responsible for the difference if a station charges more than DriveMate Fuel shows.
Charger information is mostly locations and specifications from public lists. Whether a charger is free or working is shown only where its network or a driver has told us, and may be out of date.
Reporting prices, outages and chargers
Reports from drivers make DriveMate Fuel better for everyone. When you send one:
- Be truthful. Report only what you saw yourself, at that station, at that time.
- Report by hand. Don't use scripts, bots or anything automated to send reports, and don't create device ids in bulk.
- Photograph the price board only. Not people, number plates or anything else.
- Accept our judgement. We decide whether to accept a report, how far to trust it and how long to show it. A station's own price always replaces a driver's. If your device's reports are repeatedly contradicted by the stations' own prices, it will be blocked from reporting for a week, and we may block it for longer.
You keep any rights you have in your reports and photos, and you give us a permanent, free, worldwide licence to use, store, change, combine with other data, publish and share them, including in the data we provide to others through our API. We publish reports without your name, account or device id.
Reports are limited to 60 an hour for each device or account.
Accounts
You can use DriveMate Fuel without an account. If you create one, you sign in with your email address and a code we send to it; keep access to that email account to yourself. You can delete your account at any time [to confirm: in the app, under Settings › Privacy and data].
DriveMate Fuel Pro
- Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, yearly or monthly, bought through Apple. Apple's terms for purchases apply, and Apple's licensed application end user licence agreement applies to the app unless we give you our own.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in your Apple Account settings.
- Refunds are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com); we can't issue them.
- The free version keeps up to 3 favourites and 1 alert. Pro has no limit on either.
- If Pro ends, your favourites and alerts are kept, but you can't add more beyond the free limits.
- Prices, current or past, are never part of Pro.
Ads
The free app and the website show ads from Google, requested as non-personalised (see the privacy policy); DriveMate Fuel Pro shows none. An ad is someone else's offer, not ours.
Using DriveMate Fuel fairly
You must not:
- scrape, copy in bulk, or systematically download prices, stations or anything else from the app or the website;
- use the app's key, or anything taken from the app, to call our API from anything other than the app;
- reverse engineer the app, or get around its limits or security;
- interfere with the service, or use it in a way that breaks the law or harms others.
To use our data in your own product, use the DriveMate Fuel API under its own terms (API terms).
Data from others
The prices, stations and chargers come from government schemes, open data sets and drivers, under their own licences. Their owners are credited on the data sources and attribution page. Those sources make no promises about their data, and neither do we.
Our responsibility to you
We work to keep DriveMate Fuel accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise that it will always be accurate, complete, current or available.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't lawfully be excluded. Where our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee can be limited, it is limited, at our choice, to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including the cost of fuel bought at a price different from the one DriveMate Fuel showed.
[to confirm: have this section reviewed by a lawyer before launch]
Ending
You can stop using DriveMate Fuel at any time. We may suspend or end your access, or block a device, if you break these terms. We may change or stop parts of the service, and will tell you in the app first where a change matters.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using DriveMate Fuel after that, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [to confirm: New South Wales], Australia, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction.
